WOODFORDE’S NORFOLK
YOUTH CUP:
COMPETITION RULES

 

1. The competition is open to all Clubs affiliated to the Norfolk Rugby Union.Each Club may enter per competition.Schools teams may not be entered as a club side.

2. A player participating in any of the youth competition must be a fully paid up member of that club, not having played in cup games for any other club that Season. He must also have been included in the RFUYouth Player Register at least 21 days before playing in any cup match.

3. Age groups will be Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and the qualification date will be under the respective age on the 1 September of the current season.No over age players will be permitted to participate.

4. Seven replacements may be used subject to the rules of the RFU.

5. Under 13’s and Under 14’s shall not play more than 25 minutes each way with a size 4 ball. Under 15’s shall not play more than 35 minutes each way with a size 5 ball. Under 16’s shall not play more than 35 minutes each way with a size 5 ball. No extra time should be played at any age group In the event of a draw, the team having scored the most tries wins. If there is still no result the team having scored the most goals from
tries wins. If there is still no result then the away team wins. For any further competition, the away team will be nominated. 7. In the event of a cancellation of a match it should be rescheduled to be played within 3 weeks.The date of which must be notified by both clubs to the competition organiser. If a club is unable to fulfil the fixture for any reason the match will be deemed to be conceded and the match awarded to their opponents (0–15).

8. The home team manager must advise the competition organiser of the result within three days of the game taking place. FAILURE to do so may result in £10 fine for the first offence and £20 thereafter in the season.

9. Any dispute will be referred to and dealt with by the Norfolk Rugby Football Union Youth Committee. If this Committee feels unable to resolve the dispute the matter will be referred to the Norfolk Rugby Union Competitions Sub Committee.

10. Draws for the competition will take place at the relevant meetings of the Youth Committee of the Norfolk Rugby Football Union.

11. Referees for the closing stages of the competition will be appointed by the Norfolk Referees Society. (Semi-finals and Finals)

12. Both team managers must present the completed team sheets signed to the referee for Endorsement of the result & signature. The home team manager will be responsible for sending both team sheets to the appropriate competition organiser.

13. Any contravention of rules 2,3 will result in automatic disqualification
from the competition.

 

ADDENDUM TO COVER UNDER 13’S/16’S
ROUND ROBIN TRIANGULAR MATCHES
RULES FOR AMENDED COMPETITIONS

Where it is necessary to play triangular qualifying rounds, the total time allowed for any particular age group shall be divided equally. For example: if the maximum time allowed is 30 minutes each way the game will be 15 minutes each way.

If a best runner up is required to complete the next round the following sequence will apply:

The team that have scored the most tries shall go forward.

If that is equal the team that scored the most goals from the tries shall go
forward.

If the scores still remain equal the team that has conceded the least number of tries shall go forward.

If the scores still remain equal then there shall be a play off at the earliest possible opportunity to decide which club goes through to the next round.
