1. Under 14’s will play a maximum of 25 minutes each way with a size 4 ball
2. Under 15’s and 16’s will play 30 minutes each way with a size 5 ball.
3. Play will be under the Laws of Rugby as laid down by the R.F.U.
4. Teams will be of 15 a side. Team sheets, including the positions and names of players and replacements, should be available for inspection by masters and the referee at the start of the game.
5. Scrummages must contain eight players. However if injuries cause insufficient numbers to permit this then reductions are permitted in the following order for both sides: 3-2-1,3-2(Law 20).
6. Replacements should have front row experience wherever possible. If players in the front row are not experienced, scrums should be uncontested.
7. The first named side in league and cup draws is designated as being at HOME in all cases. It is the HOME teams responsibility to arrange fixtures. It is the responsibility of the HOME team to notify the results within the same school week. Failure to do so may cause the result to be reversed or league points to be deducted or both.
In the event of a dispute rule 9 will be applied.
8. League places will be decided on points from games. Points will be awarded for games as follows:
2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. No extra time to be played
All games will conclude when the first side reaches 40 points unless agreed by mutual consent by the teachers in charge prior to the game. Points in abandoned and unplayed games will be awarded as follows:
1. If the game is abandoned in the first half, the points are shared,but with the points remaining valid for calculation purposes.
2. If the game is abandoned in the second half the points are awarded to the team in the lead, with the points remaining valid for calculation purposes.
3. If games remain unplayed by the due date, points will be awarded to the HOME side with a nominal points score of 40-0.
In knock-out stages/competitions the following actions apply to a draw at full time:
1. An extra five minutes each way will be played.During this time the FIRST TO SCORE will settle the result and conclude the game.
2. If still no result, then the team having the most tries wins. If there is still no result then the team with the most goals from tries wins.
3. If there is still no result, then the first to miss penalty kicks, centrally from the “22m”line will decide the game, every member of the team taking one kick.
4. In the Final, if the score remains tied after extra time, the trophy is shared, the first names school holding it for the first six months.
5. The tournament organiser reserves the right to select dates / redraw / disqualify / eliminate any teams from the competitions if deemed necessary. The tournament organisers decision is final

1. Under 12’s, 13’s and 14’s will play a maximum of 10 minutes each way in any one match, with a size 4 ball
2. Over 14’s will play 10 minutes each way, in any one match, with a size 5 ball.
3. Tournaments should limit play to a maximum 90 minutes in one day for any one player.
4. Teams will be selected from a named squad.If possible a minimum of Five squad players must have experience of playing in the ‘Front row’and / or ‘Lock’
5. Replacements can occur on a rolling basis.
6. Restarts will use the drop kick by the scoring team.
7. No tactical “kicking for touch” or “kick and chase” can take place outside the 22m area.A chip kick where it is caught immediately by the kicker before it bounces will be allowed. Sanction: Free kick at place of kick.
